21 Mar Not Quite ‘Tween’ Bedroom
If you have girls then you know that their bedroom décor almost always starts off pink and filled with princesses, butterflies and fairies. It’s definitely a very easy ‘look’ to achieve – it’s literally everywhere.
But how do we decorate for little girls who are not babies and not teens – it can be really tricky to strike the right balance. Well, I think this one turned out pretty well and I know that the little lady in question is pretty happy too.
This bedroom update was made even more simple as we didn’t have to change the wall color. The walls were already painted a very soft pink – a custom color from Behr. Here is the label if you want to match it exactly:
We added the black arrows as a feature wall, making sure to measure really carefully to ensure the ‘points’ of the arrows were bang center with the middle of the bed – the color we chose for the arrows was ‘Behr – Limousine Leather’ in an Eggshell finish.
The existing dresser – from Ikea – just needed to be accessorized to work with the ‘gold, black & pink’ concept we were working towards. Almost everything here came from Hobby Lobby.
The bed and bedding is the main focus of the room. The bed was this little one’s existing bed, a canopy bed from Ikea. The striped bedding and ‘bed of roses’ duvet all came from Pottery Barn Teen. We picked up some decorative pillows from Target and Home Goods.
Still a girly space, but more grown up – this was a super quick bedroom update, done in a day!
